Why the Wellfleet Dental Group?
I was raised in Lexington, Massachusetts and spent summers during my early childhood enjoying the Falmouth community with my family. When I met my future wife, Karen, 35 years ago, I had little knowledge of Cape Cod beyond Yarmouth. My first trip to her grandmother’s home in Wellfleet revealed another rotary on the Cape that I never knew existed. During that first summer visiting Wellfleet and experiencing other areas on the Outer Cape for myself, it was obvious why Karen’s family loved Wellfleet and was committed to this lifestyle since the late 1800's. As Karen and I have raised our own family, we have spent as much time as possible embracing everything that Wellfleet and the Outer Cape offers.
Karen and I have been very fortunate to be able to raise our three daughters within the Truro and Wellfleet communities since 1993. As young sailors at the West End Racing Club in Provincetown, to day-campers at the Truro and Wellfleet Recreation Programs, and finally as Town of Wellfleet Lifeguards or Beachcomber Wait Staff, our daughters have flourished in these communities and will cherish the experiences for their lifetimes. They will pass on our legacy and their love of Wellfleet to their own children.
During the summers, I only leave Wellfleet to return to work in my dental practice on the 'other side of the bridge'. It has always been a dream of mine to open a second dental office on the Outer Cape so I could enjoy Wellfleet year-round. By chance, while checking on our South Wellfleet home during this past winter and then driving into town for a cup of coffee, Karen and I were pleasantly surprised to see that the ‘Pickle and Puppy’ property on Main Street was For Sale. After our friends at Sweetbriar Realty showed us the property, it was immediately obvious to me that the layout would make a perfect dental office. The welcomed challenge that Karen and I could renovate and enhance the character of this beautiful 1850 Greek Revival home and property located within the Central District of downtown Wellfleet sealed the deal.
The Town of Wellfleet has been extremely helpful and welcoming of this project. I committed to town officials during the permitting processes that as many qualified Wellfleet residents would be hired in both the renovation and staffing phases of this practice development. To date, this has happened. Furthermore, our dental staff will evolve with very talented and respected practitioners that are residents of Cape Cod and fully understand the dental health needs of the Outer Cape. The Wellfleet Dental Group is a mix of general dentists and specialists. Each doctor will bring a unique talent and service to a region that lacks the full spectrum of dental services, especially specialty care.
The Wellfleet Dental Group will strive to be the standard for quality and contemporary dental care on the Outer Cape.
